We have a van…and it is so much more than the tea and coffee we get from it: It’s a battery charging station with permanent drone storage, ready to go at all times. This makes us a lot more efficient for the client by being able to quickly move between sites while never having to look for a plug socket to charge batteries. It’s equipped with dedicated lockers for all of the associated drone equipment such as controllers, batteries, cameras and lenses. We use it as an office, reviewing the footage while still on site and transferring it to a hard drive for clients to take away. On inclement days crew and clients can stay warm and protected sitting inside drinking tea/coffee with the drone and controllers setup on the bench, ready to go in a heartbeat. It also carries all our safety gear from medical kit to fire extinguishers and crowd control equipment. On the rear it carries our 16m telescopic pole (for those times that a drone can not be flown). We recently added a large solar panel to help top up the charging station batteries when not driving. But that’s not to say we don’t love its tea and coffee making facilities too!
