Green for Halloween drone footage

It was the first  of Manchester's Halloween-spook fest and was initiated by Heart of Manchester BID which works with city centre shops to improve footfall.

What better way to record the ghostly city in the haunting hours than by drone and so they approached Lunar Aerial Imaging to deliver the goods.

This was another night time city centre job requiring special attention to public safety so having completed site surveys and obtained the necessary permissions, we arrived at Manchester’s Albert Square fully crewed for the occasion – pilot, photographer, observer and spotter – and secured our operational area using sign boards, cones and tape. We were legal, safe, and up for the job.

Dressed all in appropriate funeral black, pilot Greg magicked the drone as it screeched in and out of the spires of the iconic Gothic city hall dodging the odd witch or two on her broomstick while camera operator Matt ensured the best shots were lined up and recorded. For the Manchester late-night partygoer it must have seemed as though all the bats of hell had been released in one frightening moment.

Within 24 hours we had sourced some relevant music and put together the short video which the client immediately used for publicity purposes in the mainstream media. They also intend using clips in their show reel for on-going publicity for their work promoting Manchester’s inner-city business district.
